Save the Bees brings attention to the dwindling pollinator populations across our globe. Pollinators, like bees, support over 70% of the world’s plants by spreading pollen to and from the various plants they visit. Between pesticides/fertilizers poisoning the crops, habitat loss from human development/animal agriculture, and air pollution, our pollinators are in immense danger. Bees support our plants, which support our world, which support us. Without bees, we face a bleak future, represented by the dark drips over the sunflower.
This original painting was created for an Animal Rights Exhibition in Gainesville, FL. The piece sold opening night with 20% of the profits benefiting the activism of the sponsoring nonprofit organization. Being the first painting I ever sold, it will forever be special to me.
This specific 13" x 19" print has gold leaf embellishments on the bee and along the flower petals. It also says "Save the Bees" in gold leaf on the bottom right petal.
*The last image is of the original painting for reference. It is sold and not included in any purchase.
